National Science Week

National Science Week is a time for people of all ages to get involved with the wonder and power of science. Each year there are over 1,000 events hosted around Australia, including those organised by schools, research institutions, libraries, universities, science centres and museums.

You can get involved by finding an event near you, visiting a science centre, or running your own event. If you need help to organise an event of your own, please check out the Science Week Grants on their website.

The theme for National Science Week 2023 is ‘Innovation: Powering Future Industries.’ This theme covers modern advancements in technology from all science industries, in particular artificial intelligence. Their curriculum focus will be on chemical sciences, science as a human endeavour, physical sciences, earth and space sciences, and biological sciences. Further information on this theme can be found on their website. These resources are incredibly valuable for those wanting to incorporate the 2023 theme and curriculum focus into an event for their school.

Please visit the National Science Week website for more information about this cause and how you can get involved. You can search through the events by topics that interest you, such as agriculture, indigenous knowledge or astronomy for just a few examples. You’ll be able to find something that interests you and connect with like-minded people in your community! Please check out their social media to see the work they’re doing and for any updates about National Science Week 2023.
