Jimmy Little Foundation

Did you know that Indigenous Australians die an average of ten years younger than the rest of the population? The gap in health extends all throughout the lives of Aboriginal people. The Jimmy Little Foundation runs programs to improve the health care of Indigenous Australians. They partner with organisations, including governments bodies, to achieve their goals of putting healthcare back in Aboriginal hands. The Jimmy Little Foundation Scholarship allows Indigenous healthcare students living in rural areas to afford the costs associated with accommodation and long-distance travel to university. The foundation also holds cooking classes, fundraises for hospitals, and sponsors Aboriginal football teams among other activities.
