International Day of Persons with Disabilities

This year’s theme is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”.

Our differences should be celebrated, so it’s time we evolve to ensure that we all have equal opportunities! There are about 4.4 million individuals in Australia who live with some form of a disability, thats around 18% of the total population.

In both public and private sectors, it’s essential we make spaces accessible and inclusive for everyone. Someones differences shouldn’t completely alter the course of their life. They deserve the same opportunities as any able-bodied person.

There are many ways that you can get involved in this cause, please visit the website to see what events work for you! You can also read more about the importance of inclusive development and accessible spaces on their site.
