Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum Inc.

Leadbeater’s Possum is the animal emblem of Victoria, and is critically endangered. Logging of the Mountain Ash forests in the Central Highlands for woodchips (paper production) has resulted in the loss of vast areas of Leadbeater’s Possum habitat.

Through the decades, natural events and the activities of well-meaning folk have propelled the Leadbeater’s Possum into national and international scientific, environmental and economic debates.

Throughout the year they regularly go “in the field”. This includes activities in the forest which cater to a range of physical abilities.
