The Elmhurst Landcare Group, formed in 1988, comprises farmers, life style landholders, retired and semi-retired people, anglers, and other interested community members, who are all motivated by their desire to address environmental issues.

Guest speakers are a regular part of the meeting line up. The hosting of the Mountains to Mallee film night was a highlight of the year with over 200 attending. Ripping and 1080 baiting for rabbit control continues as does Fox Off baiting and weed control.
