The Blue Mountains is threatened by climate change, development, bushfires, habitat loss and species extinction. The Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute (BMWHI) responds to these threats by sharing knowledge and developing practical solutions for a sustainable future. They also conduct extensive science-based research on bushfire prevention and recovery.
