Yothu Yindi Foundation

Established in 1990, the Yothu Yindi Foundation promotes Yolngu cultural development with community leaders from five clan groups. Meaning “child” and “mother,” the Yothu Yindi Foundation’s vision is the creation of economic opportunities for Yolngu and other Indigenous Australians that can be sustained over the long term.

The Yothu Yindi Foundation has two major programs to help them reach this vision. The Education Hub develops individuals and communities through education, training and enterprise, and the annual Garma Festival of Traditional Culture brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians through youth forums, art galleries, music, film, song, dance and more.

To support the work of the Yothu Yindi Foundation, you make a donation or purchase tickets to their Garma Festival on their website.
