World Stray Animals Day

The life of a stray animal is hard. There are many ways you can prevent this suffering – by promoting the desexing of pets, ensuring your own pets are microchipped with up to date information, supporting local animal shelters, and encouraging pet rescue adoption.

For most individuals with their own furry friends, the thought of abandoning them to be all alone and lost is incomprehensible. However, unfortunately this is the reality for most stray pets. Just in Queensland’s RSPCA center’s alone, they cared for nearly 8,000 strays in 2020.

If you find a pet somewhere it clearly isn’t meant to be, it’s important you reach out to your local RSPCA or call 1300 363 736. There are strays whose families love them and may even still be looking for them so it’s important that communities work together to care for our furry friends!
