World Health Day

World Health Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the World Health Organisation’s founding. The theme for this year is ‘Universal Health Coverage’. The World Health Organisation aims to remind the global population that health is a human right for all and everyone has the right to the health care they need.

As we all live through a pandemic and an increasingly polluted planet, cases of cancer, asthma, heart disease and similar diseases is increasing. It’s essential we all work towards fostering communities that focus on our wellbeing and actively taking care of our planet. The World Health Organisation estimates that over 13 million deaths around the world are causes by avoidable environmental issues.

The climate crisis is a health crisis. It will leave humanity with serious consequences if we continue this way. With 90% of our population breathing unhealthy air due to fossil fuels, this heartbreaking result is unavoidable if we don’t change.

The World Health Organisation works everyday to bring us closer to a healthier world but they can’t do it on their own. Please visit their website to see how you can help this cause and for more important resources.
