World Bee Day

Did you know that bees and other pollinators are responsible for 70% of the world’s food supply? These busy creatures are important to every ecosystem in the world. Without bees, we’re putting our food security in danger.

There are 20,000 species of bees around the world, with around 2,000 species being native to Australia. Our native bees have created unique connections with native flora through thousands of years of co-evolution. Some of these plants require a specific type of bee to pollinate, if that species dies out so too will the plants that rely on it. These intricate systems within our environment needs our help to protect and encourage them so they can continue to provide for us.

There are many ways you can help bees right in your own backyard! Bees are absolutely vital to the function and health of our ecosystems, without them our eco systems are at great risk. Please visit their website for more important information and resources to help you do your part to save the bees! You can also show your support on their social media pages and keep an eye on them for any updates.
