Want to help wildlife? Look for the FSC symbol!

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, not-for-profit, non-government organisation that operates around the world to promote the environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable management of the world’s forests.

FSC certified forests have to meet rigorous standards, which means that they are healthy, and benefit local communities as well as providing jobs for workers.

Wood and paper products which are not certified are often the result of logging practices which harm land and water, as well as reducing habitat for animals, pushing their populations to the point of being endangered. These unethical logging practices are occurring all over the world, including in Australia.

You can support the important work of the FSC by switching your brands of toilet paper, office printer paper, timber, and all other wood and paper products to ones that are FSC certified. So when you see the FSC label on a product, you can be sure that it came from a responsible source. Switch your home, and get your whole office on board too!

For more information check out Jon Dee’s video about why you should buy wood and paper products that have the FSC symbol.
