World Alzheimer’s Day
World Alzheimer’s Day

World Alzheimer’s Day is an internationally recognised awareness event, observed every year on the 21st of September during World Alzheimer’s Month. The Alzheimer’s Society started World Alzheimer’s Day to give individuals and groups an internationally agreed upon date to come together in support of those affected by Alzheimer’s.
Did you know that half a million Australians live with dementia? Behind this number are the countless people who care for and love someone living with dementia. It’s crucial that local communities come together to provide support for individuals with dementia, their carers, loved ones and the medical professionals searching for a cure for Alzheimer’s and other similar diseases.
This is the day for raising awareness around this condition, educating communities, combatting harmful stigmas and supporting the wellbeing of individuals with dementia. This is your chance to get active and work with like-minded others in your community to demystify dementia!
Please visit their website to see how else you can help and for more information about dementia.
