Tourettes Awareness Week

Tourettes is a nervous system disorder that causes repetitive movements and undesirable vocalisations. While a lot of the community have a concept of what Tourettes is, many do not understand the reality of it. It’s important that we educate ourselves to create more inclusive environments for people with Tourettes.

Tourettes Awareness Week is held by Tourette Syndrome Association Australia (TSAA) every year in the first week of May. There are a variety of ways that you can get involved such as sharing their social media content, handing out TSAA brochures in your local community, organising a mufti awareness day for your local school or one of the many other ideas on their website! You can also contact them with any questions you have or reach out for support to organise an event.

To learn more about Tourette Syndrome and the importance of supporting this community, please visit their website for more important information. You can also visit their social media pages for updates and other information they may share!
