The Healing Foundation

It is estimated that up to 30% of Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families between the 1910s and 1970s by both State and Federal Governments. These children suffered unnecessary grief and trauma and have become known as the Stolen Generations.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Healing Foundation has funded over 175 community organisations addressing the healing needs of Stolen Generations, assisting more than 45,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their healing journeys.
