Speaking Made Easy – South Australia
Speaking Made Easy, is a registered name of The Penguin Club of Australia, was founded in Sydney in 1937 by women for women. The organisation provided an opportunity to develop speaking skills and confidence, in an era when women were not active in public life.
Today, Speaking Made Easy is a national organisation that offers members guidance and opportunities to develop communication skills and confidence for their educational, employment and community involvement. Mentors and accredited advisers give constructive advice and help members learn to speak with ease in any situation including discussions, meetings, and social events.
At Speaking Made Easy women:
- Learn to converse effectively one-on-one or in front of an audience
- Develop presentation writing and speech preparation skills
- Practice public speaking
- Take up the option of completing the self-paced, personal development in a public speaking program, tailored to increase competency
- Have fun, and make friends in the process.
Women of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed to our not-for-profit organisation. Emphasis is on learning, participation, practice and enjoyment with support and the values of friendship, integrity and respect.
Meetings are full of fun and friendship while members and visitors gain confidence through learning and practicing speaking skills.
Many women have used their Speaking Made Easy skills to gain new employment, enjoy educational opportunities, join community organisations and speak at various social and community functions. Confidence leads to new opportunities – check out their website to find the club nearest you!
