Port Stephens Koalas

Port Stephens Koalas was created to address the continual threat to koalas from over-development and loss of their habitat. They maintain a comprehensive database of sick and injured koalas’ statistics going back to 1995 which assists in identifying accurately where this unique marsupial lives.

They are on the lookout for more volunteers! Port Stephens Koalas has four new rehabilitation yards now in operation, so there are new opportunities for you to volunteer a few hours on a regular rostered basis, as well as working bees.

You can help with cleaning out the koala yards or the site shed, collecting leaves for koala food, doing odd jobs such as planting or weeding or washing the rescue vehicles. You can also help them raise funds at a local fete, sausage sizzle, or a festival selling raffle tickets. You can also work on your computer from home. They are looking for people with marketing, admin and computer skills. Whatever your skills, they’ll be able to find a way for you to help!

Rescuing and caring for injured native animals is something you can do from home! It’s a great option for people who live in remote areas.

There are many ways to be involved with Port Stephens Koalas. You can also adopt a koala, donate, become a member, and receive training in how to rescue sick and injured koalas. If you are a business, they also welcome sponsorships. Get in touch today to find out how you can be involved!
