Kurbingui Youth Development

The name “Kurbingui” means “the tradition from boy to man,” and comes from the Turrabul language. It demonstrates their purpose of providing healthy and positive pathways for young people and their families as they transition into adulthood.

The Kurbingui Youth Development Association (KYDA) was established in 2001, and for nearly 20 years they have provided programs and services designed tp alleviate isolation, poverty, discrimination, and unemployment.

KYDA helps Indigenous young people get training and employment. They also support families to provide safe environments for children, and provide information and support.
