Kaiela Institute

Kaila Institute works in partnership with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organisations to foster young people, encouraging a sense of agency, bridging cultural understandings, and reducing barriers between Indigenous people and local institutions.

They run a number of programs that support the local community, such as the KEEP project which provides 80 three-month work opportunities to 50 local Aboriginal people. The Yarrwul Nyuwandan Social Inclusion project aims to develop a local curriculum on Aboriginal culture to be taught in the education sector, and Empowered Communities works with the government to reform how Indigenous policies and programs are designed and delivered.
