International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

The UN describes poverty as a violation of human rights.

People of all backgrounds, beliefs and social origins can gather on October 17th to renew their commitment to these rights and to show their solidarity with people living in poverty.

Poverty is a crisis that absolutely cannot be ignored. We have to work together to create meaningful changes and make a better future for our younger generations and those to come.

The theme of International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2022 and 2023 is “Dignity For All in Practice”. A human beings dignity is a basic right in itself and accounts for the basis of all other fundamental human rights. Every individual deserves and has a right to their dignity.
