Endometriosis Australia
Endometriosis Australia
Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to those in the endometrium, the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus, grow outside of it. This can cause severe pain and infertility, and there is currently no cure. Endometriosis has a larger impact than just a bad period; it can impact on every aspect of a woman’s life. There is a delay in diagnosis of between 7 and 12 years, due to girls and women normalising symptoms due to the social norms relating to menstruation. Education about menstrual health, what is normal and what is not, is vital. There are many ways to be involved with Endometriosis Australia, including volunteering and corporate support. From national events, fundraising on your own or in a group, you can help to raise vital funds that will go towards research, awareness and ultimately putting an end to Endo.
