Bangarra is the Wiradjuri word for “to make fire.”
Founded in 1989, this dance company combines 65,000 years of culture with contemporary movement. The dancers are from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background, from various locations across the country.
Bangarra holds a number of education programs, workshops and special performances and projects across Australia throughout the year. They also have an annual program, which includes a regional, national and international tour.
