Amnesty International

Amnesty International protects and empowers people – from abolishing the death penalty to protecting sexual and reproductive rights, and from combating discrimination to defending refugee rights. They speak out for anyone whose freedom and dignity are under threat.

Amnesty International is an independent, global movement that campaigns courageously for human rights for everyone. They are ordinary people from all walks of life, standing together for justice, freedom, human dignity and equality.

It’s everyday people joining together and speaking with one voice that brings torturers to justice, changes oppressive laws and frees people imprisoned just for voicing their opinion.

Join the global human rights movement and work alongside other like-minded people to protect human rights and change people’s lives. Become a member or get even more involved!

As an activist, you’ll be joining other passionate people in your local community to organise events and activities that empower people to take action for what they care about. With your help, Amnesty International can campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.

Volunteers might be more ‘behind the scenes’ than activists, but their passion and dedication is just as vital in defending human rights. As a volunteer, you will play a central role working with staff and other volunteers in our action centres to support activists.
