Aboriginal Literacy Foundation
Did you know that three quarters of Indigenous kids leave school before Year 12? There is a significant gap in English literacy and numeracy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Australia.
This where Aboriginal Literacy Foundation steps in! Indigenous kids between 8 and 16 years old who have learning difficulties are identified by their school or community. Then they are assisted by the Foundation through programs such as the Books for Learning Program, Literacy and Heritage Camps, and Literacy Resource Packs and Support Services, to improve their literacy and numeracy.
You can help the ALF by making a donation, or fundraising. Head to their website for more info!
