Soft Landing – Smithfield

As of October 2019, Soft Landing has diverted 1,029,119 mattresses away from landfill, and from them recycled 15,569 tonnes of steel, 5,116 tonnes of foam, and 7,162 tonnes of timber. From an environmental perspective, every 10 tonnes of materials they recycle is equivalent to taking four cars off the road permanently.

As well as the environmental benefits, Soft Landing employs marginalised people in our society, giving them rewarding employment and a sense of belonging.
