To date, MobileMuster has recycled 90 tonnes of material from mobile phones, and have diverted 99% of donated mobile phone material out of landfill. MobileMuster is the recycling program of the Australian mobile phone industry voluntarily funded by: Alcatel, Apple, Google, hmd Global, HTC, Huawei, Microsoft, Motorola, Oppo, Optus, Samsung, vivo, Telstra, Vodafone, and ZTE.
It is voluntarily funded by these phone manufacturers so that all Australians can access a mobile phone recycling program for free. They accept all makes and models of mobile phones, phone batteries, chargers and accessories, wireless internet devices, and smart watches. The program is committed to raising awareness and educating the community on why it is important to recycle. It means that fewer raw materials need to be extracted and processed to make new products, and also that toxic elements do not pollute the environment.
By recycling your mobile phone today you will be helping reduce the impact on the environment of tomorrow. There are over 3,500 MobileMuster collection points across Australia, including in all the major mobile phone retailers. Find your nearest drop off point here!
