International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace provides a date for all humanity to commit to peace above all differences, and to contribute to building a culture of peace.

Each year on the 21st of September the world observes the International Day of Peace. On this day the United Nations General Assembly practises 24 hours of non-violence and ceasefire as a sign of their devotion to strengthening a culture of peace.

Of course the only way to truly build a culture of peace is by creating communities that allow individuals within to flourish and ensures all individuals are treated equally. This is why the theme for International Day of Peace 2022 was “End Racism. Build peace.”. As a global community with compassion and tolerance we can overcome this discrimination.
