International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Did you know that 1 in 3 women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime?

Gender-based violence against women is an issue that is all too common but not talked about enough. While conversations are opening up around this issue it’s important we continue to create safe spaces for women to access necessary resources and learn about how they can empower themselves.

As stated by the United Nations, “Supporting and investing in strong, autonomous women’s rights organisations and feminist movements is key to ending violence against women and girls.”

You can help put an end to it by supporting these organisations and movements that empower women, and by helping to create a culture of respect within your own community.
