International Compost Awareness Week Australia

Composting is often overlooked but it’s an important way to help the environment – it reduces the amount of waste going to landfill, improves the health of soil and the plants and animals which rely on it, and composting even reduces carbon emissions!

The Centre for Organic Research & Education (CORE) brings Composting Awareness Week to Australia. There are ways that everyone can compost – whether you live in a high-rise apartment or a farm. You can also create centralised composting for your whole street or community!

You can get involved from home! Learn how to compost correctly and make it a habit that you and your family keep for life. You can promote Compost Awareness Week online, and spread awareness via email and social media.

If you’d like to find out more, head to their website and learn how you can get involved all year round and make composting a life-long habit!
