Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Australia is part of Habitat for Humanity, an international not-for-profit which originated in Georgia, United States in 1976.

Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families build a better tomorrow, today.

With Habitat for Humanity you can give a hand to a family in need by building them a home with your own hands! In over just one week, you’ll work with a team of like-minded volunteers from all walks of life, home partner families and local labourers to help construct a new home for a family living in poverty.

You can travel and build in unique locations across Asia Pacific and beyond when you volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers can choose to build in countries such as countries Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal and Fiji, and also fundraise to support the cause. This money goes toward not only helping build the home you will be working on, but supports Habitat for Humanity’s wider development program in the community. This includes the building of more homes and providing access to water, sanitation and livelihood opportunities for other families in the area.

By working alongside a family, you give them an opportunity to be independent and have healthier, happier, more secure futures.  Their lives will be forever changed and your hard work will continue to have a lasting impact long after you have returned home.

Volunteer with your friends and family, school group or workplace for a team building experience with a difference. Please note that the minimum volunteer age is 15, and those under 18 require a guardian. No prior experience is required, and there is a job for every skill and fitness level.
