Bat Rescue Inc. provides education and information to the general public rehabilitates and releases bats back to the wild and works for the conservation of bats and their habitat.
Rescuing and caring for injured native animals is something you can do from home! It’s a great option for people who live in remote areas. Get in touch to receive training before attempting to care for animals, to protect both you and the animals (especially because some Australian bats have rabies).
Rescuing and rehabilitating bats is a rewarding and challenging branch of wildlife care. It is, however, a specialised field and should only be undertaken by trained and vaccinated persons.
You can train to be a bat carer, or there are many other ways you can help, including reducing threats to bats on your property (domestic pets left out at night, exposed barb wire, loose netting, etc).
