Australian Native Bee Research Centre
Australia has over 1,700 native bee species, ranging from 2 to 26mm in size. They make an important contribution to Australian agriculture through crop pollination, however they are threatened by land clearing and pesticide use. Through their website Aussie Bee, ANBRC provides free information, photographs and videos on Australia’s native bees. They also publish booklets, articles, magazines and a field guide on native bees, and provide easy ways for everyday Australians to help grow the bee population such as growing bee friendly gardens and making bee hotels.
