The Australian Citizen Science Association

Citizen science is opening up how we do science. Anyone can do it, even from your backyard!

Citizen science means public participation in scientific research, particularly in the natural world. It’s a great way to harness your skills and passion to help advance science for us all. To be involved in citizen science you don’t need a science degree, or any formal education at all.

As an ACSA member, you’ll be able to share ideas, pose questions, collaborate on projects, attend networking events and connect with people working, volunteering or fascinated in citizen science. You might be hunting for fungi species in a national park, tallying bird numbers by the sea, or taking samples of stream water – all of which is important data! You can get involved as a family or on your own.
